Did you know that in Orlando, Florida, there is a couple namely Jason and Jennifer Helvenston who are asked to pay for a fine of $500 or to remove their vegetable garden in front of their house by the Orlando government? This may sound sad, but this is true. The government insists that the garden violated their municipal codes. They are advice not to pursue the gardening in their front yard, but they never listen. The couple said that they don’t understand why they need to remove their garden when it can supply food and it supports a healthy lifestyle. But the government said that it is annoying.
Well this should serve as a lesson. Before you make your garden, make sure that it abides the law. Although their intentions may be good, there are still laws which need to be followed. But I was sad on behalf of the couples as I am also an advocate to gardening.
